Oracle Cloud: Configuring of Dbaas Monitor Console for Oracle Database

  In this article we will show you how to configure Dbaas Monitor Control for a cloud database.

  • Log into your Oracle Cloud Services account

Oracle Database Cloud Service

• Go to the "" and create a new service

"Oracle Database Cloud Service

• Select" as the type of subscription from the dropdown

  • Select the SSH Public Key as shown in the attached figure

Oracle Database 12c Release 1

• Select “” from the Software Release Dropdown

Enterprise Edition

• Select "" as Software Edition

  • Select billing frequency as per your convenience.

Click on to continue.

Service Details Screen

  • Select the compute shape and time zone

  • Backup destination should be set as none or else you would have to configure compute storage container

  • Select Usable Database Storage as 25 GB

  • Select Administrative password (Note: The same password would be used as your sys password as well as the password for Dbaas monitor console)

  • Set a DB name (SID)

  • Set a PDB name (with DB name)

• Set DB Listener Port as

• Set Create Instance from existing backup as “”

  • Set Character set, National Character Set as AL32UTFS

Click onto continue.

  Finally, check the configuration and click on "Create" to create your cloud database.

\

  After a few minutes, cloud database will be created successfully.

\

  Click on the service name ( CloudGG) to open the main page of database.

\

Enabling Access Rules for the port (5500) for Dbaas Monitor Console

  Click on hamburger icon ( ) and then select access rules. Below screen would come up.

Again click on hamburger icon () correspondence to “ora_p2_dbexpress” and select enable as shown below.

Click on hamburger icon () and select “” which will pop up a new tab.

\

  Now you need enter the credentials. By default username is “dbaas_monitor” and password is same as your Administrative Password.

\

  On successful login, you should be able to see the Database Status, Listener Status and Storage related information.

  Select Manage option under the database section to stop or start the database.

  Connection Details would alsod be displayed under the Manage Section.

  Dbaas monitor also helps you in monitoring the OS related tasks including Memory, CPU & Storage. This can be done by selecting the Memory option from the menu.

  Click on OS then select Memory option from the menu.

  So now you know that it is very easy to create a database and Monitor the same using Dbaas Monitor Console.
